Why I Love to Travel & Explore?

Why do people travel? Why do people like travelling so much? What’s so special about travelling? Every traveller has her/his own reasons of doing so. Each human being is unique with different purposes in life. That goes the same with travelling; each one of us has different reasons why we go to places that we haven’t been. I can only speak for me of course. Here’s are 5 reasons on top of my mind why I love travelling and exploring new places.

1. Travel unlocks the positive side of me

A life without dreams is like a garden without flowers. I dream of travelling the world. Travel helps me to appreciate my life, be grateful to myself, be cheerful and teaches me to live in the moment which unlocks the positivity within. It also helps me to stay connected with another passion of mine, i.e. Photography. Travel photography allows me to be click various sub-genres, like Street, Landscape, Portraits, Architecture and more. After all, they say, Collect Moments, Not Things, and you’ll have no regrets when you get old.

2. Reconnect with nature

Nature has the inherent power to make to feel calm and relaxed. In an increasingly urbanized world, our busy city lives often leave us feeling tired and stressed. Therefore, it becomes very necessary to reconnect with nature often so we can recharge ourselves in the natural environment. As even Albert Einstein once said, “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”

3. Eating new local dishes and delicacies

There are people who love to eat and then there are others who eat to live. I fall among the 1st category of people. Yes you got it right, I am a Foodie. My travel itinerary almost always includes famous food places I can cover. Exploring the local cuisine give me more insight on the culture of the place. And for a foodie like me, food is mostly one of the most memorable part of the travel.

4. Resets my mind

Travel has the power to not only give you the freedom, but it also gives you the time to heal. Leaving a fast-paced city life otherwise, I love having time for myself. Travel allows us to escape life’s daily demands, dramas and deadlines and enables us to clear our minds. I travel to seek adventure and feel alive.

5. Explore – keeps me fit

I love to challenge myself and push my limits. Living in the comfort of our house tends to make us lazy, or rather, sometimes body feels rusted. That’s why I like to continually challenge myself to keep on taking new adventures, whether it be cycling across the Nilgiris mountain range in the winters, or motorcycling across the entire Golden Quadrilateral highway spanning multiple days, during peak summer days in India. I sure like to add many more such chapters to my life, exploring the world.

I hope you enjoy my blog and please let me know what you think!
